Ending the need for food banks

09 June 2022

The APPG on Ending the Need for Food Banks is running an inquiry to explore how communities and the government should address the need for food banks.

The Inquiry will consider different types of community responses that support people experiencing a short-term crisis by providing food, cash-based and in-kind support (such as vouchers). It will also look at what lessons can be learned from the various ways that different levels of government responded to the pandemic. As part of the inquiry, the APPG have put out a call for evidence from any organisations or individuals with experience of food banks. We know our members have supported residents in various ways to ensure that they can live in their homes and sustain their tenancies throughout the pandemic and during the cost of living crisis. We encourage members to submit evidence based on their experiences.

If you would like to submit evidence to this inquiry, please visit the Trussel Trust website or email their team directly. You can submit evidence until the deadline on 8 July.
