Phone scams and cold calls

We’ve received reports from our members and individuals about calls from phone scammers who identify themselves as NHF staff. They often request information about people’s homes, their landlord and other personal information.

At the NHF we do undertake research that involves telephone conversations but this does not involve making cold calls to people we don’t have an existing relationship with.

Unfortunately, we can't prevent these calls however if you think you’ve received a suspicious phone call from us you should:

Take a note of the caller’s name
Call our switchboard on 020 7067 1010
Ask to be transferred to the member of staff

If you receive any suspicious calls, emails, or other communication from us, please report it to privacy@housing.org.uk or contact the National Fraud and Cybercrime Reporting Centre – Action Fraud.
