Building Safety Bill: member briefing

12 August 2021

The Building Safety Bill was published on Monday 5 July 2021 and began its progress through Parliament. The Bill is an important milestone towards a new building safety regulatory regime and sets out the legislation to ensure the safety of people and their homes.

We’ve produced a briefing for our members to summarise:

  • The key points of the Bill for housing associations.
  • The NHF’s view of the Bill’s implications, including areas where we’ll be seeking further clarity or change.

Next steps

In early September, the Bill will enter the committee stage where individual clauses will be scrutinised by MPs. We have been invited to give evidence and so welcome members’ feedback on the implications of the Bill for your organisations and your residents.

Please submit your feedback to John Bryant, Policy Leader by Tuesday 31 August.
