Becoming a truly Disability Confident employer

25 April 2022

Becoming a Disability Confident employer to the highest level is a vital first step for an organisation who is looking to improve their workforce equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).

The NHF EDI data report published in December 2021 shows that our sector is not representative of disabled people (as defined by the Equality Act 2010) across all levels of organisations. 24% of the population have a disability compared to just 8% of our sector workforce.

If housing associations wish to be reflective of their communities then there is work to do to identify barriers for disabled people in the workplace, from recruitment through to promotions.

What if our sector became the employer of choice for disabled people, attracting new talent and embedding accessible and inclusive ways of working throughout our organisations?

This webinar explores what it really takes to be a disability confident employer.
