Home Energy Model

As part of ongoing reform to Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), the government is currently consulting on a new methodology for calculating the energy performance of a building.

The proposed Home Energy Model would replace the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) and the Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure (RdSAP) currently used to calculate EPCs. 

We encourage members to respond indivdually but we will also be responding to the consultation on behalf of our membership and we are seeking views of NHF members to help inform our response.

We have produced a briefing to summarise the proposals, which also includes questions to help you form a response. Please log in to download the briefing and email your response to Kate Atherton no later than 4 March 2026.
