Regenerating Older Person's Housing

16 December 2024

We have an ageing population - and this is something to celebrate - but it brings with it challenges for housing.

There is a high level of need for older people’s housing and some of the housing available needs to be regenerated to meet demand. This is a challenge in the current funding environment and housing associations may have to use asset sales to fund development, or transfer stock to other organisations where it cannot be regenerated. The APPG on older people’s housing and care recently published recommendations on how to regenerate outdated 'sheltered housing'.

In this webinar, we heard from the APPG and from NHF members about how we can make sure older people’s housing can be regenerated and safeguard good quality homes for older people.
