Putting residents at the heart of Housing Futures

Emma Flynn, 03 February 2020

I am really excited to be part of the Housing Futures programme. I am always inspired by what is achieved by people working together, sharing ideas, resources and solutions in order to maximise impact on communities and people. Housing Futures is an opportunity to do this on a grand scale, to find out solutions that work to mitigate, or even solve the ever increasing challenges that face us all.

quote

"While the programme will engage with housing associations and residents alike, in the East of England, our steering group is determined to put residents at the heart of the programme."

Those who have funded the programme have made a commitment to broaden the opportunities to include residents. Our first steering group meeting in February will develop what this means and how we will go about it.

As a long-time advocate for meaningful resident engagement and involvement I will ensure that, as experts, residents who wish to get involved and collaborate with us will be able to do so. This will allow residents to not only benefit from the quality of the programme but also bring their skills, experience and expertise to the priority identified and the solution.

I will keep you updated on progress through regular blogs and watch out for a resident workshop in April.
