Housing Ombudsman report on dealing with cladding complaints

20 May 2021

On 18 May the Housing Ombudsman published a spotlight report on dealing with cladding complaints. The document sets out “three key lessons for social landlords in dealing with complaints about cladding to ensure that the impact on all residents is recognised.”

The NHF has read the recommendations on communicating with residents with interest and will consider how we can continue to support good practice in this area. However, the report does unhelpfully cast doubt on the risk-based approach the sector is adopting to building safety works and we are writing to Richard Blakeway to explain our concerns.
