New resident survey on Social Housing White Paper commitments

04 March 2022

IFF Research have been commissioned by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) to gather baseline results from social housing tenants in England about how landlords are currently performing against the commitments in the Social Housing White Paper (SHWP).

The survey will cover the five key themes of the SHWP:

  • Keeping properties in good repair.
  • Maintaining building safety.
  • Respectful and helpful engagement.
  • Responsible neighbourhood management.
  • Effective handling of complaints.

Some of the questions will be similar to the tenant satisfaction measures proposed by the Regulator of Social Housing.

While DLUHC have stressed that this survey will not be used to measure the performance of individual landlords, and IFF will not be identifying which landlord responses relate to, we know you will be keen to understand if there is anything we can learn from the results from this survey. We will stay in touch with DLUHC on this and will share any further information when we can.

Your residents may be contacted by telephone or email from 21 March. If you have any questions, please contact SHWPPMO@levellingup.gov.uk.
