Call for Evidence on the Conditions of Authorisation Review and Fire Doorsets self-certification

18 May 2026

The Building Safety Regulator has launched a review of the Conditions of Authorisation, in line with its strategic plan 2023-26. The aim is to ensure Self-Certification Schemes remain effective, proportionate and fit for purpose within the current building safety framework and to strengthen consumer confidence in schemes and their members.

It also seeks evidence from the sector on whether this could support a new self-certification scheme for fire doorset installation, maintenance and replacement in England and Wales.

We would like to hear your views on any of the consultation questions, or broader comments/other issues you would like to raise. Please share your response with Sarah-Jane Gay, Head of Building and Fire Safety Programmes by Friday 29 May.
