How we're engaging with Reform UK

Housing associations have a vital role to play in engaging with local MPs, councillors, and mayors from all political parties, showing them the sector’s vital role in providing affordable homes and building communities.

It’s important for housing associations to build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, to demonstrate social impact and keep housing on the political agenda.

The surge in Reform UK’s popularity over the last year, and the election of a significant number of new Reform UK councillors and mayors provides an opportunity for the sector to build new relationships and demonstrate the value of social housing to an expanding cohort of increasingly important stakeholders.

This briefing follows the webinar the NHF recently organised on engaging with Reform UK. We are prioritising engagement with Reform UK as part of our refreshed political and influencing strategy, meeting and briefing senior party politicians, officials, as well as engaging with council leaders and housing cabinet members from across England. We will be providing further support and guidance for members ahead of the forthcoming elections in May.
