Reciprocal transfer schemes for people at risk of domestic abuse

01 February 2023

The Social Housing White Paper makes it clear that landlords should have a policy setting out how they tackle issues surrounding domestic abuse.

This webinar investigates reciprocal transfer schemes, discusses what they are and how they can benefit residents that have been victims of domestic abuse.

A reciprocal transfer scheme enables individuals and families who are at risk of domestic abuse or violence and who have a social tenancy, to move to a safe area while retaining their tenancy. It is a formal collaboration between social housing providers.

This webinar covers the policy and practices around reciprocal transfers, partnership working and approaches to enabling schemes between housing providers.

We hear from speakers from Safer London who discuss their work in London and their toolkit for establishing managed housing reciprocals.
