Revised consumer standards and Code of Practice webinar

21 August 2023

The Social Housing Regulation Act has received Royal Assent officially becoming law. The Act forms a new era of regulation for the social housing sector offering greater protection to social housing tenants against serious hazards in their homes, ensuring a better service and quality of life.

One of the crucial aspects of these reforms is the transformation of the consumer regulation role of the Regulator of Social Housing. The Regulator will now be empowered to proactively monitor and drive landlords' compliance with enhanced consumer standards. In light of this, the regulator has published a consultation seeking input on a set of draft consumer standards.

Housing associations play a vital role in providing quality homes and services to tenants across the country. In an effort to ensure continuous improvement and maintain high standards, the Regulator has developed revised Consumer Standards and a Code of Practice.

This webinar provides housing associations with valuable insights and help ensure they are well-equipped to navigate the evolving landscape of social housing consumer regulation. By staying informed and adapting to the revised Consumer Standards, housing associations can continue to prioritise tenant satisfaction and deliver high-quality services.
